Emay Images was established in 2011 from the photographic passion of EdithMay Gowing. I have developed my photographic skills over the past 45 years, starting as a small child.

I am very much a country girl at heart. I grew up on a farm in the central west of NSW. My parents, brother and sister-in-law still live on and run the family farm. I still love to visit the farm but now live in Orange in the Central Tableland of NSW. I developed my love for photography from my parents. Both my parents enjoyed photography when they were younger. My father still enjoys playing with his camera and prints. My mother has moved on to her greater love of art in the form of sketches and painting

I purchased my first camera as a small child from birthday money. Although it was just a toy, it took surprisingly good black and white photographs. This developed my love for the camera and photography in general, inspiring my parents to buy me a SLR camera while still in high school. This was a very good serviceable camera. I have since migrated to the digital versions. More recently I have indulged my passion, investing in professional grade equipment and turning my hobby into a business. My photographic education has been mostly informal, learning through 45 years behind the camera, with a few short courses over the years.

I have a strong love for Nature, especially the Australian Landscape and flora. I also enjoy travel, often teaming my two passions wandering the bush with my camera and tripod. Primarily I seek to capture the impressive natural features of our environment, like waterfalls, rock formations, trees, forests, and the open plains. I also like to work with native flora, therefore dabbling in some Marco photography.
